hello giant vintage fabric haul

Today is that magical day that comes once a year, where I play hooky from work and drive to Longmont for Quilt-a-fair, a fabric and quilting market held at the fairgrounds.

And then I buy a giant stack of vintage fabric that I don't need for crazy low prices. Seriously, when fat quarters of brand new fabrics are $2.75, a fat quarter of vintage fabric for a buck or buck and a half is totally awesome.

here's the overview.
hello giant vintage fabric haul

while I often try to constrain my fabric shopping to Things I Actually Need or Fabrics That Go With My Next Project, I decided this year to just buy Stuff That I Liked, as buying stuff I like generally means that it goes with my stash, and I actually have been doing a pretty good job using my stash in quilts lately. So it was kind of rad when I got home and laid out my haul and realized that not only did it fit in with what I already own, it also kind of all went together.

red, aqua and gray floral print

vintage newspaper advertising fabric

black and white floral vintage print

black leaf motif fabri

pennsylvania dutch print in black

red aqua and taupe-gray stripe fabric

red and blue nautical vintage fabric

gray blue red stripe fabric

red plaid and daisies vintage fabric

aqua fabrics

Six or seven yards of vintage fabric for about $25? Totally awesome.

Nice haul! I especially like the first 6 fabrics. A couple remind me of the '50s, when I was in highschool!

Super super jealous. I really find vintage fabric very affordable at current quilt shop prices.
