the quilt that became a doll quilt that became potholders

I don't usually have unfinished quilt projects. I usually work on one thing at a time and start new projects only when I finish another. But this one is a project I had started maybe a year ago, a quilt idea that I set aside once I realized I didn't have enough of the gray fabric to make much of a quilt with it. I dragged it out recently with the idea of making a doll quilt from it. Then I thought better of this, and decided on potholders.

potholders

the design is half square triangles. the smallest squares are one inch, which was stupid since I am rotten at precision work.

the backing fabric is a reproduction print.

potholders

I like them, but I wish that I had worked on a scale of blocks that didn't end up looking sloppy.

These are fantastic! Not only are they my favorite colors, but the pattern came out beautifully! Geometric designs like this are so neat. I have to admit that I usually punish all my mistakes to being potholders, but I would be afraid to burn these - they are much too pretty! :P
